Looks like it's gonna be a similar price to the Affinities.

On top of that, there's a new Squier Standard Strat with a flame-maple top

And a new sig for some guitarist I never heard of, but it looks awesome. :yum:

My only problem with this is that they discontinued the Japanese model ( I'm guessing so as not to compete); actually, I wouldn't have been able to get mine so cheap if not for that sooo... nvm ans carry on!

Dig the CAR version. Hopefully this will mean I can get a black pickguard for my MIJ...

There's one exactly like that on CL near me (well, one of the mid-2000's models). I thought for a bit about picking it up but I don't know. I've sort of got my eyes on something else right now

I have one of the first-run '51s, which they blew out for $99 years ago. It's a killer guitar and one of my favorites.

Damn it. My Squier GAS is at extreme levels now, but more for a bass than a guitar.

Yea, it's damn tasty. If you can find one, pick one of the MIJ models up while they are on closeout. Down to $450 on Musician's Friend and Guitar Center.

Killer price for the quality.

maaaan would love to have the Red flame one to toy around, the white H/S is pretty cool too

maybe after I get a decent 7 I could save for a grandpa guitar :), Fenders had been giving me a lot of GAS during the year

I'm really looking to get one of these now... The 2-tone burst one with a new 'guard. :yum:

Unfortunately I can't find anyone selling any aftermarket pickguards right now. Guitarfetish used to but I guess since they were discontinued they stopped. Hoping they start again.

Yea, I was a little bummed about that too. WD still makes them and you can send a stencil tracing in of your pickguard to make sure they drill the wholes right, but it's a little pricey - about $40 after shipping.

Yeah, I'm not gonna spend 1/4th of the guitar's worth on a thin piece of plastic.

If Guitarfetish doesn't re-stock them, I'll probably paint it myself.

Also really digging the O-Larn sig. The volume is in the perfect place, a 2-point trem, maple board, fat headstock... So much want.

Yeah the SIG model is cool agreed on the volume pot.... I always slam dunk and dig hard when I'm playing so they usually tend to be a pain in the ass. I'm digging the tele head on the '51 its a good look.

That vintage blonde one is calling me... might need a tortoise or black pearloid pickguard, though.

Pretty cool that they're trying some different stuff. The Vintage Modified Series is great stuff - all the ones I've tried have been great quality and features for something that tops out around 300 bucks.

I think I remember seeing that O-Larn (?) Strat being introduced in a regional-only capacity some time ago. I guess it had enough traction to be a standard model. However, like many others, I've got no idea who it's for. Still looks good!

So, I emailed Guitarfetish about replacement pickguards. They have no plans to sell them again so far. :(
