Opeth. :flame:

Opeth's newer stuff appeals much more to me than the old, with the exception of Deliverance. I just haven't been able to get into anything predating Blackwater Park.

My first Opeth album was My Arms, Your Hearse and it has remained my favorite; Deliverance/Damnation and Blackwater Park follow shortly. I can't view Deliverance and Damnation separately, to be honest, since it seems like they should have just been a double album.

I'm gonna' say, The Fall of Troy, Death, Coheed and Cambria, Tool, and even though the new Sword album isn't out yet (I've heard a few songs off of it and damn they have gotten better). So them too.

Smashing Pumpkins (depending on my mood)
Soilwork (with the exception of the last one. Yes, I like their melodeath material more :p )

I agree with Devildriver,
Killswitch Engage get progressively better in the songwriting department with each release,
Alice In Chains put out better albums as they went along,
Gojira get better with every album,
Necrophagist,
Sikth,

Living Sacrifice, each cd progressively kicked more and more ass.
