That but in But with different options, such as.........

Emg 81-7 in the bridge
Emg 707 in the neck
3 way toggle
1 volume
no inlays (just dots on the top, none on the fretboard)
Fixed bridge with graphite saddles
24 jumbo frets
matching headstock
Birdseye maple fretboard

I know Carvin wont install my EMGs but I know a tech that will!!!!

So what you guys think? Is that going to kick ass or what?!?!

I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But Man my pockets are gonna be empty for a while!!!! But you know its gonna be worth it!!!!!!

FUCK!!!!!!!

Now Im thinking maybe I should get a blank Ebony board instead of a blank birdseye! board!!!!!

What do you guys think I should do?????????

I have a Carvin DC200 with an ebony board and an EMG 81 in the bridge and an 85 in the neck and its rippin!!!!!!!!

But I like the "LOOK" of birdseye maple better. birdseye maple sounds great! As well does ebony. The BEM is better for leads and the Ebony is more riffs. at least to me. I guess.

Man, that is a sweet top! I might even go so far as saying that it's their best color combo on a quilted maple top. What are the necks like on Carvin DCs?

Honestly, that depends on the color of the guitar. Ebony looks great with everything, but some colors just don't look right with maple. That guitar you posted would look wrong IMHO, because the color is way too dark.

Dave Terry has too damn many nice guitars.

I vote blank ebony. I agree with noodles. Maple looks odd on some guitars. I always hate maple fingerboards with painted headstocks. The black ebony would look amazing with that red burst finish though.

That's fuckin' spot-on Noodles:yesway:

I think that Carvin is gorgeous (although i'd still take a high-end RG7 over it any day) but it would not look good with a maple board.
I think that's why i don't 'generally' like maple boards.

They HAVE to be matched with the right colour body and headstock otherwise they can leave the guitar looking anaemic.

I've got fuck-all against maple as a neck-wood(it's probably my favourite for actual neck construction),but just on the back please, not the front.:nono:

Ebony or good quality rosewood are the kings of fretboard woods.

No offense but that's one of the gayest V shapes ever. Their one at NAMM = metal. That one looks more like gumby.

That finish is bad ass...i saw one like that on ebay when i was shopping around for my Carvin...i almost went with it :)

My next 7 will probably be a carvin like that...but that same finish with green or blue looks bad ass too (with the blackburst of course).

It looks really good with brighter colors. If that was cherry sunburst, it would look good with maple. I'd still probably take the ebony. One color quilt tops are excellent with maple.

I'd say chunkier than an Ibanez Wizard, slimmer than a Strat.
