You know those albums that are best heard when laying down and doing nothing but listening. I did this last night with Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream and Tool's Lateralus. I find it's such a good experience just laying down and listening to albums like this front to back. I got up last night and felt somehow better when nothing was even wrong in the first place. Can't explain it.

What's your guys' favorite "clear your mind" albums? What do you put on just to lay down and do nothing but listen to?

Opeth - Damnation - This is the biggest one for me, I love just laying around eyes closed and listening.

KSE - Alive Or Just Breathing
and my Bulb mix, it's got most of his songs that dont have vocals on them.

Macalpine and co.'s CAB albums, and The latest planet X. Instrumental prog/fusion seem to do it for me. I usually listen to it while doing essays and stuff like that. :yesway:

Explosions in the sky - The Earth is not a cold dead place. I have been listening to that album a lot before going to bed lately.

+1 for Catch 33
I by Meshuggah too.
Sol Niger Within.
Gojiras' From Mars To Sirius is awesome for that aswell.
Dark side of the moon too!
A rather long song called Terminus by a guy called Paul Oritz (Chimp Spanner/Figure Ground), search for him on myspace/soundclick!!
Scenes from a Memory by DT.
That Karl Sanders album, Saurian Meditation.
Damnation by Opeth.

Yeah I love to just sit and listen to music, preferably outside on a clear night so I can stare out into the stars. Haha.

I'd have to say Scenes From a Memory by Dream Theater. That is a good clear your mind album. Actually, Awake and Images and Words too.

Other albums that can do the job as well would be:

The Autumn Effect by 10 Years
Endangered Species and Through The Eyes by Flaw
Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Scar Symmetry is good too

And most definitely: A CHANGE OF SEASONS

Opeth - Damnation

You read my mind. I've chilled out to this album so many times, it's great. :yesway: Also, DT's Images and Words is great for just mellowing out.

Also, when I'm pissed off, I usually crank something fast and brutal, like Bephegor's Lucifer Incestus, or Bloodthorn's Genocide. :metal:
