hey its nips and mike

the only worry about the schecter is the all mahogany-ness of it. also the 007 is a 25.5" scale.

do mahogany sevens get muddy real easy?

looks like i'm not going to be able to order for another couple weeks tho, my mom is being really jewish with her paypal account, so it will be a bit till i get my own up.

I dont think they're muddy at all. If you ask me, the muddy-ness will come more from your pickups and your amp. (correct me if im wrong though someone!)

If its a good guitar to begin with then you are correct.

and to mnemonic, the mahogany isnt that big of a deal. with the right pups and properly set up amp, you should get a nice chug out of it.

Just contact your bank and they will give you the number.

Is that 007 Elite a set neck or bolt on?

I don`t think you will have any trouble with sounding muddy. Just put a good set of pups with some upper mids cut and you will be fine. The first to come to mind would be the Duncan JB 7 or the Dimarzio EVO 7. Match the JB with a Jazz 7 in the neck. Match the EVO up with an Air Norton 7 in the neck and you will be ready to throw down big time.

Glad you found something nice in your price range.

its set

and yeah, its got "duncan designed" pickups now, so i guess thats the cheap version of the JB.

i'm super biased toward dimarzio, so i'll probably end up with an x2n7 (have an x2n in my dean) or a d-activator (because i wanna try one, and they look cooler than the x2n)

might go with a d-sonic, dunno yet. depends how it sounds, if i get it.

and i'll have to wait till monday to call the bank, they're closed :(

The X2N is a terrible pickup... Stay away from it... If want clarity and cut, DSonic or Evo are the best available pickups...

Out there, somewhere
The D-Sonic 7 / Air Norton 7 combo slays in mahogany if you want to go DiMarzio. The DS7 is super clear.

i like hte x2n i have now, but i haven't really compared it to much.

i like it more than the tone zone i used to have.

i think i'll go with the d-sonic 7.
