Truss rod problem?

i noticed today that my truss rod turns really easily.. like you dont need an alan wrench. just turns. it sounds like it's broken.. even though ive never really adjusted it. the guitar plays fine. no problems but i was wondering if this ment my truss rod was broken?

Is the whole rod moving, or is it just the adjustment nut that's loose?
How is the relief on your neck? Is the rod is moving freely you should see some odd bowing.

Then you really don't have anything to worry about. Just tighten the nut down slightly (without twisting the rod itself) and it should be fine.
