*tuning down* ping! great broke another string.

So i have been having an issue with my ibanez rg120, the high e string keeps snapping on me when i tune it down, this happens quite a lot! At least a couple times a month. I don't usually have to change strings often on my other guitars, but my ibanez just eats em right up! I have grovers installed on it and my wraps are very uniform and tidy (check photos please ) but right at the post my string snaps. I'm currently using Elixir nanoweb 10's but sometimes use super slinkies, which does not fair much better. I do not play for hours on end and i don't usually rust strings because my hands aren't really sweaty. I also just tend to play and not fool around with much bends and i ignore my tremolo all together.

Is there anything i can do to prevent string breakage from occuring so often? I just strung it last week!

If i did have burrs how would i go about removing them?

do you have spare tuners? if so fit one see if it keeps happening, if it is then its someting else..

or

try different strings, maybe roto strings

If it's always at the same spot, its more than likely a burr.

I have a jackson lying around with grovers on it that's gutted out so i think i'll kife one off of that. I already have grover mini rotomatics on my ibanez but the jackson has the same set on it.
