I fail to see how most of these are uncomplicated. Jazzmasters and ANYTHING with a double-locking bridge, or in fact more than one pickup, are automatically out.

I think you're confusing uncomplicated with barebones. Nothing in this thread is covered in abalone, fancy multi-colored flame finishes, fancy inlays etc. I basically only require 24 frets and a tremelo(kahler preferred), I'm not sure how that makes it complicated as it is now absolutely necessary for the music I play...

As far as I'm concerned, barebones = uncomplicated. I get the argument for a simple solid finish and no fancy inlays, but I think for a guitar to be considered truly simple it should have as few things on it as possible. But that's just me.

Not to be rude, but applying the same logic I could say "Yeah my music requires 27 frets, a built in eq, floyd rose and sustainer. That doesn't make my guitar complicated because I need it."
Each to his own, but I agree with Bucket. I'm not gonna argue about this, it's so silly.

Rock on, dudes :yesway:

I seen this tele years ago & have always wanted to make one similar, just without the pickguard & crappy stickers. Maybe shove a Slug in it. :hbang:

Those RGs are what I always recommend for new players or as a cheap, quality instrument. No cheap binding, good body wood..
