Using Walnut to make a neck

Hi guys

I was wondering if it is wise to use walnut as a timber to make my neck out of.

I was given a nice piece of walnut that is just sitting there oing nothing and is the perfect size i make into a neck.

Walnut is a great, stable neck timbre! Go for it

You'd want to use a HEAVY body wood to compensate. Walnut weighs a TON, plus when you add in the weight of the tuners, you'll have a recipe for neck dive unless you have something really heavy as a body. i would LOVE to see that, though, i bet it would be beautiful!
