Valveking NO DISTORTION! HELP!

hey everyone. just bought a Peavey valveking vk100 head. and the clean channel sounds great but when i switch to the lead channel. it just goes quieter with no distortion at all. need your help because im playing a show tomorrow and i need this bad lad to work.

did you swap tubes? or did the tubes move in some kind a way?

a fixed a vk100 of a friend of mine.
that one had bad tube socket.

Sounds like you bought a lemon, to me it sounds like the preamp tubes were damaged during shipping. You should probably return it.

Right off the bat I haven't really been able to get a good metal tone with a valveking, though a friend of mine used to have one and he just put in some nice JJ EL34s and the tone crushed skulls it was his main amp for a while, though I think he's using a divinity II now.
