Anybody try one? The sound clips I've heard are amazing, but they were mainly all bluesy/old school rockish clips. Unearth uses them as well, so they must be able to cover a wide spectrum of tones. One channel amp, no effects loop, 60 and 120 watt versions, Sovtek power tubes. The following links are from the clips I heard:

I would think Unearth might use a pedal in front...

I doubt it... the thing has more gain than any of those clips display... Matte Henderson's clip Godzilla's Cello is fairly heavy, but he has a unique production that makes the amp sound a lot smoother.

The low-end thump on every VHT I've played is insane... I found them more suited to death than I did modern or nu-metal because they have a unique harmonic structure... almost dry... even though they are completley saturated... the Deliverance seems like a mix tonally between the UL and the CLX... a little more saturated and biting than the Ultra Lead but with less fur and more low-end than the CLX.

Can't wait to get my hands on one.

unearth most definately use a boost, I can't wait to hear the new album as it's being produced by terry date (pantera, deftones etc)

They use the maxon as more of a tonal 'colour' rather than a gain boost.
