This tiny bit of Honduran mahogany will make two one piece Saviour bodies for the run!

Hey, guys!

So it's begun!
Last week I launched the work on the run.
This is was one "tiny" board

All bodies have been planed

I also cut the rosewood for the necks

and planed the ebony for fingerboards.

Tops are being prepared for joints

More pics will be posted on ViK guitars forum within a couple of days.

To make some things clearer:
all 5 projects will be crafted together, despite position of ordering. That's the point of batch processing to save some time on setting the machinery, etc.
I'll be working on the run about 1.5-2 hours a day nearly every day aside other custom projects, so hopefully noone will be pushed back)).
The guitars will be shipped out after all of them will be completed as I'd like to make some group pics/samples/vids about the Run.

Also, guys, please post here tunings you're planning for your Saviours. The blanks have some tonal difference, it could be helpful for assigning the right pieces to right projects.

Those tops are awesome. Glad the build is beginning.

I will be tuning standard b and drop a

How do you test the tonal properties? This sounds interesting

I will probably stick with b standard, but I want to experiment with a 7 string version of NST.

No magic here really. If two pieces of wood cut from same board to same exact dimensions tap with a different height notes (I mean main tone of the few that any blank provides), it's just natural to expect that the lower tap will better response to lower freaqs and work better with lower tunings. Also consonance tones pieces put together have better chances to make a better instrument. It's not a big deal in fact but just one of those thousand details that make fine tonally rich guitars.

And a couple more pics
