One of my dealers started carrying Vola guitars recently. I got one, a Luna, very similar to an Ibanez S Series, and I love it. They have some nice 7 strings too. I was wondering what people's thoughts are on them and if people have tried them -

As far as I know, very high quality MIJ guitars not well known enought to sell well. Chondro Guitars blew its latest stock very cheap since they weren't selling because they weren't a big name brand.

They look pretty good for sure.

THey are (heavily) endorsing a lot of people in France, linked to some advertising in guitar magazines. Therefore i'm not convinced about the objectivity in some tests.
Seems like well made guitars though , remind me of caparison in some ways , hard to try cause none available in shops...

yeah, I played a few when I was at that shop, they are good guitars especially for the price, but nothing really stands out to me about them. Strangely the necks were all over the place, like one of the necks was legitimately maybe the thickest, roundest neck I'd ever played.

Saw a couple reviews on YouTube. Not sure how much I trust them, but they look real near. I really like their OZ line. This one on Reverb looks really cool:

I really like all of what @Church2224 posted, especially the first black one. Caparison vibe for sure, I'd dig it in a different color.

I was there with @jco5055 haha (whats up man) and I can agree with this. The necks being all over the place is what will turn me off from them forever. Very uncomfortable to play too, but that's of course subjective.

For the price Vola wants I'd just take my money right back to Ibanez Prestige. I've had three prestige sabers, paid around the same price in comparison, and zero issues or dissatisfaction.

That said, always nice to have options and I'm glad a new company is giving TPTB some jostling. I would say their prices need some work, MIJ isn't an automatic break out the checkbook like it used to be, hasn't been since like 2005ish. You can have ten different factories in any country and get ten different levels of quality, at least that has been my experience save Mexico and China. Maybe they're worth it, screw me, but nobody knows.

I like the Kadinja signature 7’s…. But I’m not paying £1,500 for a guitar with pickups I’ve never heard of before (Fire Ice)

They certainly look nice enough. Are they Fujigen or their own factory?

I checked several out while Chondro was carrying them. Nice guitars, build quality seemed really good, but they just didn't stand out to me. Didn't help that I strongly prefer set-neck/neck-thru and the best-looking ones were all bolt-on.

Nothing special. Nothing stands out. Nothing memorable.

The guitars just feel like another generic, mass-manufactured import.

I played one of the Keene signature models extensively at the Vola booth at NAMM 2020 when the model was announced. It legitimately felt like an old pre-2013/2014 Schecter.

First time I saw these was Dovydas' 7 string from them. Thought it was a killer looking guitar so looked into it a bit more. They really do look pretty nice.

Played a few at NAMM. They are good instruments, no more no less, without any particular standout feature to them. Could have done without a "not-really-Caparison" headstock for a couple of their series, as that does place them a bit in the "wannabe [brand X]" camp in terms of vibe and they do have their own thing going on in other series of theirs as it is.

Not something I'd go for personally, but can't see people going wrong if they fancy them if the ones at NAMM were the average example.
