Just to let you all know, the bodies are actually made of basswood. I contacted Washburn awhile back to double check. I use to own the metallic grey and metallic red versions.

CGord, can't wait to see it!!!

(Marko's link didn't work for me. )

I have trouble seeing myself with a red gutar, but I don't want to jump the gun because I'm not crazy about the grey either.

Nope link still doesn't work.

Ans yes the $99 ones are still available here:

http://www.music123.com/Product/Pro...m_mmc=Email-_-General-_-MarchMadness-_-99Main

Link worked fine here, I downloaded and unpacked the pics last night.

And no they don't have anymore. Notice that they have none in stock, and this guitar has been out of production for quite a while so I doubt that 2-3 week back in stock time is correct. They do however appear to still have the black ones for $149.

Curses, I was just notified about these guitars from music123 on Friday the 9th. I never thought they would sell out in 2 days!!!

Also I'm still not getting that link to work. I'm clicking on it just like you... no picture of a red seven string or any other guitar comes up. It does take me to sendspace (and I joined, which i didn't want to do) but it still doesn't show me any pics when I click on the link!!!:wallbash:

On sendspace look about 3/4 of the way down the page and click the download link, it has a bouncing red arrow next to it and looks like this:

Download Link: WG587.rar

Which should download the .rar file. You then need a program to unpack the rar (it's an archive, like a zip file but made with a different program).

i've got one of these, i've actually had it for some time, the metallic red one. i didnt like the red, and the neck was to thick and round, so it's my first big project. sanded it down, and in the middle of a camo-refinish right now. also shaved down the neck, it's much nicer feel to it now, and i filled the holes for the pickup ring screws and i'm going with direct mount. when i sanded down the body, i was surprised, 3 piece body and the middle piece was actually almost in the center, but i still decided to paint it.

Hey man, I went to school in Fredericton for 5 years and I hated it there.
Moncton was the cool place to visit. I have some good memories there. I'm still glad I left Canada altogether though.

Got some pics of your project guitar?

Yeah, moncton isnt too bad. i was in hfx for years, i'd take moncton anyday, and finally the music scene here isnt all punk and fiddles :)

I'll try to take some pics of it tommorow, i'm just about the lay down the base coat over the primer now. still havent even figured out exactly what colors i'm going with, we'll see what i mix up for the airbrush :D

I've been to Halifax a few times. It's ok to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. People there act as if the city is bigger than it actually is.

Sad to say this, but I thought most of the maritime metal scene sucked big time. Most of the shows I went to were mediocre at best in terms of the band playing and the sound systems they were using. Mosh pits with only 2 people jumping around can be hilarious though.

Post some pics when you are done with your guitar. I'm sure it will look interesting. How does it sound by the way? Which pickups would you recommend for it?

yeah, and when i left it was getting very expensive there, moncton is wayyyy cheaper :)

still the case allot of the time, but it's starting to pickup here now, we're getting going finally and there's a few younger bands that might start turning some heads.

Definately. it's actually a practice job, for one of my rg's, so it's a learning one, heh. been airbrushing a while, but only canvas, and while there's no shading on this, i need to get it perfect, and a smooth surface.

How does it sound by the way? Which pickups would you recommend for it?

meh, it sounded alright, but i'm used to my rg's with hotter pickups. I'm looking for answer to the right pickups on this one as well.
