It's a signature amp for Meshuggah? I google'd it but the first page of google doesn't have much info surprisingly. All I can find is DAR was another boutique darling that over promised and under delivered and now no longer exists.
Why is it so long? lol Also what the fuck are those tubes? Are they just for show? I swear the standard 6l6 and el34 aren't that big, are kt88 that big? The hell is going on with that thing😆

Yea, it's Fred's sig amp. It's not that long but it is the shortest amp I have and I think also the heaviest. It is def not an amp to be lugging around places.

Was that Yehuda's? Always wanted to try one of these, but prices are way beyond what I'd pay for an amp, haha!

Nah, this one's been in Japan its whole life. It's the only one with a JP voltage selector.

Yeah I would love to have one of these just to document the circuit, but no desire to pay going price to get my hands on one.

Same. If there was a way to do that with 0 risk of breaking it I'd be game. I don't even know how to "open" it up or like where boards are given the way the tubes are mounted. But in general since there are only a handful out there and the design is unique, I plan to try to profile / capture / get some information out there about them. I feel like none of the youtube demos are particularly good... almost all of them are from 12-13 years ago.

Wait who was bitching about Kiesel doing an amp and it possibly having a too gaudy look with LEDs and bevels I don't remember...

Hey man, there's definitely a right way and a kiesel way of doing things. I think the photo generally capturse the vibe but the previous owner was dialing the lights in on the back and there was some colors that just looked amazing to me. I mean the next most gaudy thing I have is a triamp, and it's not even close.

Never ever thought I would hear a triamp described as "next most gaudy".

The amp looks great though. It does however look like it needs to be set at earthquake level minimum, which I'm not sure would go well on your neck of the woods.

(Fun fact: my phone insists on autocorrecting Triamp to Tramp )

Where are the preamp tubes? Is it 5150 style?

I just turned 30 and all of sudden I’m getting what I used to consider “old man” taste.

I’m dying for a Les Paul or something similar like an ESP EC-1000 with a carved flame maple top and binding. A Floyd or Wilkinson trem would be icing on the cake.

Same dude. All of a sudden I feel like I NEED a LP shaped guitar. I've been 30 less than a week.

335's and non electric arch tops
I feel like theres an element of “plays acoustic regularly” unless they buy, then sell said larger guitars.

I think 335’s look awesome, but I would rather a fully hollow 339 size because 335 is hefty for me :(. And I found out the 339 wasnt made until the early 2000’s iirc.

I was looking at Casinos and Sheratons a little while back but more recently was hunting a Fly or PRS Studio. I think the greatest indicator of aging in the guitar space is how willing you are to call a store and see how much a Rickenbacker actually costs.
