Thinking about upgrading from my Boss MS-3 and getting a Line 6 Helix. I'd put the Synergy Syn-2 in the first loop, and some Marshall reissue pedals (Bluesbreaker, Drivemaster, Shredmaster, Guv'nor) in the remaining loops. Maybe it will also replace my Boss BF-3 Flanger/MXR EVH Flanger (I swap back and forth from time to time) and/or my Whammy DT.

Anyone do this (at least Helix + Synergy Syn-2)? Does it ruin the feel too much? Any tips/tricks to set up the Helix when I first get it so that it pairs well with my setup?

Did you need to perform any routing? When I installed Black Winters in my 2077 I did have to widen tabs and depth, I why rather avoid it if I could (in the middle of a move and some of my tools have already gone).

I have a spare set of PAFs which I like a lot in my S7420, so I have some options.
nope no routing needed. Lundgren made a custom black heaven set specifically for the rg2027xl. It just drops right in. Its also the reason i had to go the custom route with seymour duncan, as they need to do that for the triangle baseplate. Ill shoot you a dm once i get that set, otherwise ill make a post in the gear for sale and link the reverb listing when the time comes.

Out there, somewhere
Bodies are at the painter for nitro sparklies, basically Charvel-style San Dimas and DeMartini body shapes. Reverse headstock birdseye necks.

I can't seem to find another pedal to fit the space left on my board that the Kernom Ridge can't replicate, and has MIDI built in. Don't really want to buy a switcher for one pedal. I could maybe switch to an MC6 Pro and try using the relay switching on it to control a pedal with external control, but I'd have to reconfigured my board in a weird way. Kinda debating a Friedman IR-X, but I don't know if I'd use it much. I'm not using the amp modeling in my HX Stomp and would prefer to use the amp's sound and let the pedals enhance it...
I always forget the Stomp has a loop. I could literally put any pedal I want in there and MIDI switch it on and off, which I think is enough for me. Seriously considering picking up the Science Amps Mother Preamp, then.

Got the Syn-2 on friday and ordered the Ultra Lead module for it. I really love this preamp and it was definitely the right decision to get the UL over the Deliverance as I don't really like the two gain knobs on the Deliverance. The UL can cover some of the same territory too.
It is super percussive, dry and clear. Really something different and hard to describe. I think the amount of gain doesn't change that much after 1 o'clock but the structure changes to something fuzzy with a lot of gnarl but the same clarity. I tried to make it djent but there is no chance without a boost in front.

Now I have to choose the second module. I want something more tight but most of the modules are covered with my fm3. The most promising modules might be the HBE, Savage and Drect as I could never make them sound good in the AxeFx so maybe the Synergy preamps sound better.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Cali76 Deluxe. Patiently waiting on an Anderson custom order that should hit soon enough.

Yeah, I really like the UL module. I usually use it with a boost, but I love how percussive and punchy it is. I also love the graphic EQ because I can get as much bass as I want, and scoop the mids as much as I want. I have been curious about the Deliverance module, but I think there might be too much overlap between them. I am not sure if I would really get anything different out of it vs the UL.

You might try the Uberschall. It is pretty tight with the Pre-EQ switches.

Even though the FM3 does have some of the same amps, I dont really find them to sound the same. The Synergy stuff is more dynamic, punchy, and clear sounding overall vs. the FM3.. It is a totally different playing experience.

I've just ordered an RG2027XL from the UK for the fine sum of £999 new. It was an ex display model (Ibanez display, not shop display). It appears to have some mild wear on the bridge if anything.

Does that make it a used prestige?

That's an absurdly good deal. Damn!

Bias that bad boy.

I may 6550 my jcm800 50w tbd
All biased and ready to go! Seemed steady but will check again in a few days. This is somehow my first tube change so had a friend help and it's straightforward and I have all the tools.

Felt a bit tighter and punchier which is what I was hoping for. I typically like amps that feel like the notes are hitting me in the face.

When I get an 800 it'll be straight to 6550s

I wasn't even in the market for another guitar! I've just spent a bomb refurbishing my property and I have the Evertune equipped RGDR on preorder as well. But it was too good an offer to pass up!

I might need to release a few from the stable soon...
