I've been listening to Elder a whole lot lately, and it has me looking to get into fuzz pedals for the first time in my life lol. Currently deciding between a Black Arts Pharaoh (ala Elder) or a Fuzzhugger Algal Bloom. I think both would be great -- not looking to full on doom fuzz, just have a moderate amount of gain going on. I also don't really have an appropriate amp for that kind of sound, so that's something to look into also.

Not sure if this is appropriate for this thread, but it is for guitar.....thinking of buying a Macbook Air to have something small/portable for music making and no fans. Haven't had the best of luck with Windows laptops (my windows desktop is fine). Trying to decide if I should buy the first gen M1 one from Walmart for $700, or try to cop a newer model from Apple's refurbished store to get 16+ gb of ram🤔
welp, finally bought a macbook air, an M2. Still feel bad, because it just feels weird to spend so much on a laptop, but glad to have the right tool for my needs😮‍💨

I suggest start with the OG circuits: cheaper, easier to find in various forms and you dont have to spend a lot to see if you like it. This has worked out for me :yesway:

Also any amp is a doom amp if you play doom riffs on it ;) fuzz will get you most of the way there for sure.

My rec is a used ehx triangle fuzz (OG big muff ‘68 circuit iirc)dunlop fuzzface (ignore the shape fuzz face sounds great), cheapest Rat available locally and a tonebender of some sort. Treble booster is fun but not where i’d start.

In my fuzz journey, fuzzface is my main with big muff being wicked at wall of sound, tonebender mk1.5 for zipper splat goodness (theres many tb’s) and treble booster for a little extra.

Lots of folks love various Rat versions but the mid frequencies and me dont gel. Had a real one, didnt really use it, sold it. My fuzzrocious secret C is rat based and same deal (havent used its dip switches).

Looking forward to hearing it through the Quad/2:90 in true stereo through the Mark 4x12s. :wub3:

My name is Marked Man, and I'm a Delayoholic. The killer onboard chorus, flanger, tremolo, vibrato, phaser, panning, ducking and compression effects are a bonus. I will have to become a student again to use even half of the possibilities, but exploring sound is the whole point for me. And t.c. is my favorite effects company, always usable and musical.

Yeah, on my SLO modded Jet City, the Overdrive channel is more compressed and smoother than the crunch channel. Way more gain of course. It always reminds me of a mix of a JCM800 and a Recto. I generally use the gain about noon to 1 oclock with a Tubescreamer on, on the Overdrive channel. I think I like a lot more gain than you, lol. I like the huge fat sound it has. It sounds big and chunky. That is what I would want the SLO II for.
I like a lot of gain, but I like it to still be open and dynamic. I dislike a lot of compression on my signal.

I am enjoying a lot of the delay possibilities on the GT1000 Core.

I like all of this. I have been GASing for the TC pedal for a hot minute. There are a lot of options that make more sense to me, but I'm not a rational man.

I already had two awesome delay pedals.

But who cares? I wanted this one. Delay pedals have their own personalities, so I have no doubt I can continue to use all of them. But I'm anticipating the 2290 will be my #1.

Pulled the trigger on an Harley Benton Fusion III.

My expectations are not high but I've heard it's worth more than it costs.

I have been listening to a lot of videos of this thing lately. I keep thinking about it since I really like my Flashback II, but I really wish this could do dual delays, especially for the size.

I have been very impressed with these. I think they are great guitars. They will require some TLC in setups and such, but the ones I have played have been better than expected. I always think about grabbing more.

Of course it's not the same, but I usually go to the 2290 first in the Fractal. Congrats, that looks super cool. (Also, stop posting pictures of your Mesas because it's too awesome.)
