Current in-process projects. The 3 custom JEM cloth top 7 strings are for a friend, the crackle reverse neck universe is mine.

If anybody is looking for quality, lots of effort, outstanding finishes, beautiful work, skip this post. If you're looking for fast, essentially free, minimal tools, minimal materials, minimal effort (12 cuts & 4 screws) read on.

It took me longer to do the math, figure out what would fit on my miter saw and find left-over, knot-free, 2x6 pieces, than it did to actually make the stands.

Given that a 2x6 isn't actually 2" x 6", and there's round-off error, this makes 2 sets of 2 amp-stands (even allowing that the 2x6 was 5.5" wide)

Materials used:
  • 2 - ≈10" pieces of 2x6
  • 4 - 2-3/4" cabinet screws
  • 4 - Healthy squeezes of glue
  • 4 - strips of painters tape

They will get a coat (or two) of spray paint and high friction rubber feet, when I get a chance.
