Do you mean the pickups with the mid-boost circuitry? I had those in an old USA Jackson Fusion and they weren't great IMO!

Yeah those. For my tastes I would even go as far as saying they sounded bad. I prefer my Duncan JB for that "strings plugged directly into the amp" sound that I like.

Unfortunately I don't have any solo pics on this PC, but a group shot will have to do. Bottom row second from left is a 1967 Gibson ES330. Bottom row far right is a nylon string my dad built sometime in the 60's. I have a violin that's somewhere over 150 years old I believe, and a mandolin from the 50's or 60's, but no pics of either of those right now.

My oldest is one of my 1975 Ibanez "Korina" Destroyers. I bought them over the last 10 years so I personally haven't had them that long but they're vintage regardless.

i have an old alverez acoustic guitar that i've had for a long time and love playing.

i really have no clue when it is from, but it does have a sticker on the inside of it that says it was serviced at such'n'such guitar shop in april of 1983.

for a little bit i had one of the eiphone les pauls from the very first run ever borrowed from my uncle ( I think 1975?) it was gorgeous, real flame maple top, played and sounded fantastic. loved it. Wish i had pics. I dont think epiphone has ever mad a les paul as nice as that one, or even many gibsons.

Oh damn. This is gonna be a toss up. First up is my late 1986-early 1987 Kramer Pacer Custom II. The recess cavity for the Floyd is not original, I added that myself since I couldn't stand having a German Floyd Rose and not being able to use it to its full potential.

Next up is my Ibanez Roadstar RS440. Made in 1985 at Fujigen. I might end up ditching the awful Pro Rock'r Tremolo and retrofitting a Kahler I have laying around since the Pro Rock'r is impossible to find parts for when something goes wrong. Awesome guitar though.

Then, here's my Peavey Nitro 1 Active, made in 1987 here in 'Murica. The active pickup in it is hot as hell, hotter than any EMG I've used, and I still haven't found any pickup that has that raw of a sound to it with that much clarity.

On a side note, I can't wait until my band starts playing shows so I can show off my pink/red Kramer while playing death metal

I also have an OLD clarinet. I don't the exact year, but it's made of some kind of metal, which leads me to believe it's Civil War-era, as wood was used for the war effort. Could be wrong though, but it is CERTAINLY old.

My oldest is a 1984 Kramer Pacer, black with a Maple body.
Heavy as a tank!
11 lbs!
This guitar is indestructible and has been put through years and years of live playing.
Survived airplanes, customs, trucks n cars, been dropped way to many times.
The OFR is still rockin...worn to shit and I mean big time and no problems with it at all.
Stays in tune, never break strings...ever.
Did a gig once and had the sound man come up to do a tune.
He did the old swing the axe around your neck trick a la Vai/Malmsteen and chipped the finish around one of the strap buttons.
Other than that and obvious surface scratches it's still awesome to this day.
The back of the neck has so much of my DNA embedded in it that it's now skin/sweat color...lol

This guitar is so rock solid I went on a year tour without a backup.
In fact I never ever needed a backup throughout all those years...15 at least!
