Hello,

I'm new on this forum. I've been looking for a novax style 8-string guitar (extended range/fanned fret neck and dual output for separate bass and guitar pick ups). I wonder if anyone know of any brand/builder in Europe that's making something similar?

Kind regards,

I haven't seen a lot of builders do much like that. Hybrid Guitar Co is now a Charlie Hunter/Wes Lambe/Clay Conner operation, but they are located in the States. There is one for sale up on Reverb right now (https://reverb.com/item/17293128-novax-charlie-hunter-ch8-2003-sunburst), but I'm not sure it would be either worth it/feasible for you to import it into Europe.

Thanks for taking the time to reply! I'm aware of Hybrid Guitar co, but as you said the taxes here make it even more expensive and that's the reason why I'm asking about manufacturers in Europe.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge of the European builders scene will be able to chime in. Good luck with your search!

I don't know anyone in the EU specialising in it, but I bet Waghorn (UK) would knock it out of the park

Waghorn can basically knock anything out of the park, given the work I've seen from him, really. Whatever route you choose, this is bound to be quite the expensive endeavour, I'm afraid.

This is interesting. I might go this route for my next guitar. If I'm not careful I'm going to be waiting for several guitars to be made... :ugh:

You could probably get something like that from Skervesen if you like their models. They already do fanned frets and adding the electronics should not be a huge deal but will cost you some extra.
