If the only artists you can name are white, you're doin' it wrong.
Much better to have him spew out the same names already mentioned in the interest of remembering the foundations of the music instead of listing other great artists that hadn't been mentioned yet? If every post listed white artists then you might have had a point, as is you were just looking to flame someone over nothing.

If your looking some where to start, try your favorite blues-rock inspired players like Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Santana, Freddie King, and then go from there.

The thing is, just listen to and copy who you like. Notice how Stevie Ray didn't make my list. :)

No, he was a fantastic player, heavily imitated however.
