My shortlist:

  • David Gilmour
  • John Petrucci
  • Mark Knopfler
  • Rory Gallagher
  • Jeff Beck
  • Guthrie Govan (is new to my personal list, but I dig anyone that shreds that I don't find completely boring)

Hoffmans from Deicide were probably my biggest influence towards my current (and seemingly un-evolving, lol) style.

its nice to see Tosin getting his due...not only is he an amazing guitarist, hes the NICEST dude!...my old band played with his old band Reflux a couple times...that dude is extremely humble and kind....if you ever get a chance to meet him, you will like him even more

I'm surprised Andy Timmons isn't on here:nono:

This.

Tasty as hell. He's the man.

Runner-ups: Nuno, Satriani, Friedman, Skolnick!!!, Guthrie, Sfogli, EVH, Petrucci, Russ Parrish (Satchel), Pete Lesperance, Eddie Head, Jeff Beck, George Lynch, and so on. Not to forget some great jazz/fusion players: Gambale, Holdsworth, Garsed, Scofield, Scott Henderson, Bireli, DiMeola, etc.

And yes, I have to admit that I like Yngwie actually.
