Maybe he cut 2 in half and slapped it together. That's basically what they did with the Edge FX for the 8 string Meshuggah had built I believe.

Looks like it, if you look at the fine tuners you can see the cut there.

Yeah, I'd try to contact the guy indeed. Anyway it was my priority too to know where the artist had that bridge. It seems that anyone who wants a floating 8 string bridge must have a good blacksmith on his address book!

Asked the wife.
