Who tunes down to G/F#/lower besides Meshuggah?

Most of the bands Dino Cazares has been in has used 8 strings in one song or two.

The latter two have been mentioned, Ion Dissonance tune to G#, which isn't G or lower.

Their new album is supposed to have 8 strings on though.

Fb is a perfectly valid note name (It's the 7th tone in the Gb minor scale for example), although there's a good chance he did mean E.

basically the 4 lowest strings are in unison with a 4 string bass in standard tuning, and the 6 highest are just D standard.

Tosin Abasi plays a lot of different clean passages with his 8 string. Most of the Animals as Leaders is with 7 though
