Is no-one going to vote for Vinnie Moore?:(
I am.

Vinnie's the best in my book, dude's got it all. Great technique, great phrasing, great songs. What more could you ask for in a guitarist?

First time I ever saw Vivian Campbell was on Dio's "Rainbow In The Dark" video back in '84-'85 and I was impressed, always have been impressed by him, he's a great player. Also, on Dio's "Dream Evil", Craig Goldie, i've always liked him too. :yesway:

I was a late bloomer. I got my Mr. Big's Lean Into It album back in the early 90s, and I've been a Paul Gilbert fan since.

(I bought the record for Daddy, Brother, Lover, and a little boy, not To Be With You)

I voted for Jason over Marty...

Same to me. But not because my personal musical feelings. Jason's technics is far ahead Marty Friedman, IMO

p.s. Where is Richie Kotzen? I think he has couple of Schrapnel albums too

Even the Vai records are better, "ALAE" is generic as hell even for pop, and showed more that DLR was done and over than anything else.

I sometimes wonder if Marty didn't see the end of 'shred by itself' coming, and joined Megadeth because of it. I do remember Mustaine saying that Friedman sucked at rhythm and had horrible tone back then.

Now on pure skill, and no record label boundaries, Shawn Lane owned everyone on that list, or mentioned in this thread, for musicality and technical mastery, IMO.

Shawn Lane gets down for sure, Michael Romeo is crazy as too, amazing player, I've seen him do some tapping shit I'd never even being to comprehend, plus he has amazing composure and a ear for music as well.
