Hehe I know that guy, you'd love him D-EJ... he too has a hard-on for all things ESP/Caparison! Only difference is he has lots of money and actually buys all of them! :fawk:  If you saw half of the guitars he owned you would cry, really.

Geez, you can get a truly "original" '80s Horizon w/Jackson rip-off headstock for half that much.

That is a petty good price for it, got to remember that is a custom shop model, not avalible in the US.

I just don't see what's so special about it to justify such a high price, when there are older Horizons floating around eBay all the time for a lot less money. And without the Smurf headstock, to boot.

There's nothing "special" about it, but it was built in the custom shop, it'll play better than any production guitar you can buy, that's the point of it.

Oh yeah, I'm sure it's a really nice guitar, it's just I'd rather get something a little less plain-jane for my custom shop dollars.

That guitar is very nice. Some day i hopefully will own a custom shop, but for now i have to stick with the standard series cause they are much cheaper.

Hey guys, Ari (WarriorOfMetal) linked me to this thread so I figured I would chime in.

The Horizon is a custom shop build, which if you ask anyone who has played a custom shop model vs. a standard series model, they'll tell you how much better the custom shop ones are. I think $1650 is a pretty good price, but I might be willing to go a bit lower on it. It's a real nice guitar, but I can't afford to keep it around. And yes, I've owned a decent amount of gear.

Here's a clip of the ESP I recorded the other day if anyone is interested.

I don't play 7 strings, but I do play 6 strings tuned to B, if that counts for anything.
