Spotify changed its desktop UI just enough to be annoying. Makes nothing better and only trips me up when looking for the home, search, and arrow buttons. I will never understand why these changes happen.

Desktop or app? The app has always been garbage and I just go right to the website instead, the PS4 app is also just as horrendous; no idea why I can't the sort the same way from platform to platform

Minor or background changes do not give the coder any kudos or attention from management, supervisors, etc. Instead, you'll see negative UI/UX updates that are awful because they are more visual. Changing some code to potentially load faster or something of that nature isn't as easily seen.

It really is and I'm not letting go until this thing refuses to connect to internet. But anyway, I feel you. When the hell are these IT companies going to learn "if it ain't broken, don't fix it"? Probably the first time I've been mad at these nonsense updates was when Youtube switched from star ratings to thumbs up/down and that was probably like 2009-2010. Having been in the working life for some time now I'm pretty sure all these pointless updates are just to keep some programmers' sorry asses on the payroll.

Never, because making you happy or keeping you satisfied with their product is not their goal. They want market share and control.
Once they realized that they had a captive userbase, they knew they could just tighten down the screws forever and ever and as long as they don't get too carried away too quickly, the boiling frogs won't leap from the pot because there's nowhere else to go. What are you going to do, not use a computer?
Same reason why everything is subscription only now, same reason why ads are so pervasive everywhere even in paid services now, same reason why everything is tracking everything you do and how / when you do it all the time now, why everyone wants to make you use 'their app' now, why sites and services are broken all the time now, and why once-good products are now frustrating garbage. They don't have to care, because they know you'll still use it, and not caring / making things objectively shittier makes them more money.
I'm in IT, I can rant about this all day.
This doesn't belong in the "why mad" thread but relevant since you asked it here: I test drove a CX-5 GT Turbo today and HOOOOO boy that's my top contender. If/when the dealership calls me tomorrow I'm gonna try to make a deal with them. Super fun car to drive, very smooth, and comfy for the 5-10 minutes I was testing it out. I don't even want to bother fucking around with the other contenders since they had CVT transmissions and don't have much gains in terms of mileage.

Yet again, I put in a seemingly simple sandwich order that I ordered online (so they can refer to a receipt and not get confused). What do they do? They screwed it up of course. They fucked it up to such an extent that I think 2 of 7 were correct, and only 5 were in the bag.
"Well, dumbass, you should've checked before you left." Yep, you're right. Between getting told recently to stop being so pessimistic and to start trusting people more, as well as feeling awful, I ignored the thought that told me to check the bag before we left when picking up the order. Yes, I had the thought as we were leaving that I should check the bag, but said, "No, I'll trust that they did it right."
Thankfully, for everyone's sake, my girlfriend handled it, because I had my jackass button hit so hard (plus I feel like shit and was getting a food headache/swimmy from needing to eat) that I probably wouldn't have been too nice about it.
Also, why would you put length wise slices of pickle so that when you fold the sandwich, the pickle is folded? Just why? (Not to be confused with the standard pickle slices you find on hamburgers.)
I guess I need to babysit/monitor people while they make my food from now on, despite whether or not I am dealing with allergies (or perhaps a cold/flu), because people are going to get it wrong on an alarming basis.

There are several places I straight up do not eat at here now strictly for this reason alone.
It started getting so noticeable that I started to keep track of how many sequential orders they would screw up and anyone that hit 3 in a row got axed forever. It was a surprisingly large amount.
Like come on man I worked in food service, we all have. It isn't that hard. I know shit happens when you get busy but come on now.
