Also regarding the "name", there are many examples of bands with rather "stupid" names and have become quite successful, and different genres and different levels of success. Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, Hootie and The Blowfish, Nickelback, Limp Bizkit, The The, !!!, Mr Mister, Chumbawumba, Panic! At the Disco, Hoobastank, Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts, Steely Dan...

The list goes on, and some of those bands are rather criminally successful. (I'm looking at you Russell Crowe... )

id say mainly cos theyre australian, the local market is just limited as fuck, 20 million people spread out over a barren desert nearly the size of the US...

and i too am guilty of not bothering with local bands at local venues, i only go to international shows because i assume all australian bands suck (it doesnt hurt that out of all the gigs ive been to maybe ONE local support was good enough for me to look them up after the show, while most continued to turn me off aussie bands...)
