Hello all, just a quick question for you. A guy near me is selling a Yamaha Pacifica 821DX for around $200. I have done a bunch of google searching and just cant find much info on this guitar to tell if its a good deal or not. Do any of you guys know about/have this specific model of guitar? Thanks.

200$ for that guitar?? If it is in good shape could be the deal of the year!

Those pacificas are amazing guitars!

Those old PACs are the beast...

Amazing neck, classy look... and that one you say is 24 frets and H-S-H!!

Today you can only get PACs with HSS and 22 frets...

Also stock pickups used to be alnico V and very sweet and good... most of the people never change that pups ;)

From what little the seller knows, it has dimarzio pickups. No idea if they are the originals.

Yamaha had DiMarzio making Pups for them at that time.
I think it's "Random Yamaha Model DiMarzio" pick ups.
They resemble the good ol' PAF.

And yeah, it could indeed be the deal of the year.

If you buy that and don't like it, i'll buy it off you and pay for all shipping. I have a few Yamaha's from that era, including a couple of Pacifica 621's (floyd equipped) , and they're amazing.

I have a Yamaha Pacifica 921s that i bought for $190 awhile back and as I understand it, the bodies and necks are made by Warmoth, pickups are dimarzio paf pros in the bridge and neck and a sh-1 (?) In the middle. I love mine.

That is only true of a few models like the 9xx series. AFAIK only the neck is Warmoth though.

The Pacifica 8xx are made in Taiwan.
