You think your life's so grand
You don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground
You let your life just slip away
Just so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make your mind go blank
and then you lose control, then you lose control!

I never was the one, the one to say
the things you say
Never seem to wonder what you say
You think you've got your life completely in control
You've got a lot to learn, the bridge you burned
It's gonna take its toll!!! Pay the burnt bridge toll!!!

So practice what you preach!
Practice What You Preach!
Practice What You Preach!
Practice What You Preach!

You think your life's so grand
You don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground
You let your life just slip away
Just so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make your mind goes blank
and then you lose control
Pay the burnt bridge toll, then you lose control
Pay the burnt bridge toll, so practice what you preach!

Practice What You Preach!

Definitely my favorite Testament album, with The Ritual a close second.

I saw them on tour for that Album...Just bad ass.

"Practice What You Preach" is a great album, but I'd probably say my favorite is "The New Order."

The flamenco version of this song on the new Alex Skolnick Trio album kicks much arse as well. Viva la Testament!

They just reunited with Nick Barker on drums.

Just in case no one had heard already.

Apparently both. From smnnews.com:

Continuing the return of TESTAMENT, the original line-up will perform shows world-wide within 2007. Influencing a whole metal movement today, TESTAMENT are still one of the originators of thrash.

Drummer Nick Barker (ex-DIMMU BORGIR/CRADLE OF FILTH) will join all original members Alex Skolnick (guitar), Greg Christian (bass), Eric Peterson (guitar) and Chuck Billy (vocals) for this historical year.

TESTAMENT is currently working on new material for an upcoming CD release. Stay tuned for more information.

Band guitarist Eric Peterson exclaims, “Hey Metal world! Working hard with Nick on some new ideas and some cool old school styles and it’s coming together really killer! Six songs already in the can so far! Just waiting for the Chief to come up with some lyrics to match, we get into the studio to track the drums in June…looking forward to busting out some new ones for this summer at the festivals and get a reaction!”

Chuck Billy states “It’s been a long time coming, this new album is like a good wine, you throw in the grapes and CRUSH.”

They've been re-united for ages, but their original drummer Louie Clemente is arthritic and couldn't handle a full set, let alone a full tour, and John Tempesta is occupied with The Cult. Their Aussie tour a few weeks ago were there first shows with Nick Barker I think, I'm told that Eric Peterson had to cue him a few times for various drum parts due to him not being too familiar with the material but that it didn't really affect the show.

The cool thing is, they're no longer billing this as a "reunion"; they've said this is the current, legitimate Testament lineup and since Nick came on board they've been playing post-Skolnick material live (only tracks from The Gathering though, I'm not sure why they aren't playing anything from the others).

They remind me a lot of Suicidal. The heaviness is there, but so is the technical mastery. I liked "Souls of Block" ;)
