Just found out Nobuo Uematsu is taking an indefinite leave to recover from constant work. Franky he should have done that much earlier. The guy's been working nonstop.

Speaking of Uematsu, let's appreciate some of his pre Final Fantasy classics:

Regarding Chrono Trigger, technically it's 16 bit. :p But it's one of my favorite OSTs of all time. I'm still baffled with amazement that it was Yasunori Mitsuda's debut score. The story was legendary too, after being dissatisfied with sound design jobs, he threatened to leave Square if he didn't get a composer gig. He was then assigned to the 'dream team' and worked himself to the hospital leaving Uematsu to finish the OST off. And (as we all know) they knocked it out of the park.

I've been following Mistuda's career immensely and he's still writing awesome music. Xenoblade 2 OST (with other great composers) is currently my album of the year.

One more:

What could have been a licensed Terminator game turned into this semi obscure platformer. It was pretty short but tough enough to last, I certainly played the crap out of it. The music was by far the game's strongest aspect. Up there with the NES's finest.

Unfortunately I cannot embed at a time-stamp, but here is my off-the-top-of-my-head shortlist. I could do a dozen more, but I think this is enough. I put the time-stamp link of my favorite track from each one below the video if you want to listen to what I wanted to embed.

Man, that's one hipster list. I've never heard of any of those.

Knowing Qweklain's vast knowledge of oddball games that possibly overshadow my own, I expected that kind of list.

Solid choices. Damn, I haven't heard Totally Rad in ages. Admittedly I was put off by the the title alone when it came out. I was getting sick of everyone talking like Jeff Spicoli/Michelangelo. I played it eventually. It was alright.

Also that Journey To Silius boss music I posted was wrong. That user put the Megaman 2 boss music instead. Should've listened to it first.

I remember Xexyz! It was one of those games where you rent it, have a blast, but then are unable to find it again because you can't remember the name. Can't put my finger on why that was
