5. Aborted - Carrion. It's from Strychnine.213. I can't find this album, and I want it badly. But this song is Brutal, and I love the bone snapping sounds at the beginning.

That's probably because according to Sven that album actually never happened. I do like that intro track though.

i can see that not everyone really knows what death metal is.... BTBAM, meshuggah, all shall perish, fear factory, after the burial and beneath the massacre are NOT death metal... im sorry... but i see them like this:

Deathcore:
-all shall perish
-after the burial
-beneath the massacre

Prog Metal:
-BTBAM (maybe prog-metalcore, but it doesnt matter)
-Meshuggah

i have no idea what to call fear factory, but they are faar from death metal... i think theyre very Nu-metal, maybe deathcore.... but certainly not death metal

In no particular order

Morbid Angel - Enshrined by grace.

Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face

Death - The Philosopher or Nothing Is Everything

Immolation (pretty much anything by them but let's use) Christ's cage

Portal - Werships. A band that carry the flag of what Morbid Angel were doing for their last two albums. Nasty and bleak metal.

Naw man, Beneath The Massacre is tech-death, for sure.

i would agree somewhat, they are fucking crazy for a deathcore band... i kinda generalize them as deathcore... but to more accurate, i would consider them "Technical Deathcore", but even in that case, its still technical deathCORE, not technical death metal...

also, their breakdowns are way too simple and hardcore-ish to be considered "progressive" IMO

Have you heard their newest release, Maree Noire? They've really moved out of the deathcore sound, and into a more Necrophagist-y tech death sound.

It's going to be hard to narrow it down to just 5!

In no particular order;

Suffocation
Dying Fetus
Cannibal Corpse
Morbid Angel... Not including the abortion of an album they just released.
Death

But there is so many more I could list.

They are definitely as Death Metal as you can get while still being Deathcore. I found it odd that when I saw them recently with Hate Eternal they chose to play all of their breakdown-laden songs. Sure enough, they didn't go down very well.

Thing is that afterwards they seemed pissed off like they didn't see it coming.

Good band, I think their next album will be the most refined we've heard from them.

Told you it changes constantly  or maybe I'm just making multiple posts because five isn't enough. 10 would suit me :coffee:
