Rad that someone likes Intestine Baalism, great relatively unknown band.

All my favs have been mentioned: Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Monstrosity, CC, Nile, Phagist etc. No one mentioned Incantation: Onward to Golgotha great album

I listened to Organic Hallucinosis today. Needless to say I was reminded that it is probably the only album in existence that I consider perfect.

Funny thing, that. I like... three songs -- Poem About Blah Blah Blah, Day 69, and the title track. The rest bores me immensely, but those three are completely badass.

Edit: SAVE MY AIR; SAVE MY - AIR

The best Death Metal bands are the one that can groove the evil. So....

Decapitated
Suffocation
Behemoth
Hate Eternal
Nile
Death
Carcass
Morbid Angel
Monstrosity

and a few others that have RIFFS, not only hyperblasts or uber-technicality.

They are a great band. Some of the guys from IB are in a band called Deadly Spawn now. I've seen them live and they play amazing old school Floridian death metal (not too tech and not overtly brutal). A great band.

Fuck songs. I gave a lot of thought to this...

No particular order.
Cannibal Corpse - for pioneering work and for not fucking up the recepie, but just keeping it brutal as always.
Decapitated - for evolving the early deathmetal into the next era, making creapy and catchy tunes
Death - for pioneering work and constant musical progression. One man, one mission.
Spawn of Possession - the epicentre of technical progressive death metal. A band (or bryssling in general) who understand and evolved death metal with strong parallels to classical music.
- cant find anybody else to match up with these four..

Honorable Mentions:
Iniquity - denmarks finest. Buy serenadium
Grave - swedish and fucking heavy
Morbid Angel - sorry guys, you have just put out a steaming hot dookie, so ...
Visceral Bleeding - just sick:shred:
Immolation - IMOlation ;)
Exmortem - listen to their sixth album : Funeral phantoms, evil shit!

1) Suffocation (everything!)
2) Nile (everything)
3) Death (sorry, but it was cut off in its prime and has been surpassed)
4) Cryptopsy (not everything :)
5) Dying Fetus (KoA, fuck yes!. Oh shit, that was grindcore :) )

edit: OK. songs.
1) Pierced from within
2) The Blessed Dead
3) too hard to choose, maybe "trapped in a corner"
4) Abigor
5) Killing on Adrenaline

I realize that from forum to forum, taste in bands gets homogenized, but this is on a whole other level. :spock:

Well the thread title specifically says death metal bands... If you wanted our overall music tastes I'm sure you'd get more of a variety. :yesway:

I like anything from Dio to Toots Thielmans (sp?)

Suffocation - Infecting The Crypts

Atheist - Piece of Time

Easily the heaviest and best death metal bands out there. I've never heard of any of the bands you guys have listed though, they all kind of are boring and not very heavy but here are my favorites. Also this is really technical and the stuff you guys posted is mostly (ok all) noise IMO.

and of course the best album by the best death metal band as of late. This album easily kills anything they did before, I hated the old stuff, really boring and not heavy.
