Hi everyone, what a nice forum you have here!
My name is Janne, and I'm from Finland. I'm 24 and been playing for about 6 years now. I play mostly rock and metal, and occasionally some blues and just recently some country (although I need another ten years to be able to chicken pick properly )
I've concentrated on 6-strings for far too long; I only have one 7-string at the moment, and to tell the truth, it kind of sucks. It actually suck so bad I don't feel like playing it at all.
It's a cheap Harley Benton. It was originally black but I decided to refinish it. Here's a pic. Looks nice though:
I also had an Ibanez RG7321, but I sold it about six months ago. The tone of the low B string was a bit disappointing to tell the truth, it didn't have much sustain to it and I couldn't get it to intonate properly with heavier gauge strings.
I was at a Nevermore gig a week ago, and after spending two hours in front of Jeff Loomis bowdown: ), I decided I need a proper sevenstring. So I'm hoping to score a decent one ASAP. The Hellraiser would be an ideal choise with it's longer scale. And if it's good enough for Jeff Loomis, it's good enough for me. "Sadly", I have a custom 6-string Ran in the making so I can't afford a 7 just yet. But, in the meantime I think I'll play the hell out of my other guitars.
