I frequent a lot of forums, but don't see many fans or much love for my beloved Hardcore.

Lets take a moment to discuss our favorite hardcore bands over the years, and enjoy the beautiful transition from the pogo happy, teenage angst ridden 80's hardcore punk, to the 90's crossover with thrash and metal, to the 2000's bleeding into death metal and forming a new breed of Deathcore, to the most recent upbringing with the 3rd wave of Hardcore with kids bringing back chants and simple 2 step breakdowns.

Who is your favorite hardcore acts over the years?

My absolute favorite is Boston's HAVE HEART. A wonderful mix of traditional hardline hardcore and modern emo, their lyrics are absolutely heart wrenching and beautiful, on top of a E standard assault that somehow fits very nicely with their drop C and drop B counterparts out there.

I've also learned to really enjoy Knocked Loose, these kids have a wonderful flavor of Hardcore with a more metal influence, not quite deathcore, but a far cry from classic hardcore. Wonderfully refreshed genre, now even touring with Gojira and Deftones.

Lets bring it back!

I LOVE Comeback Kid, a fantastic combination of hardcore and pop punk in the vein of NoFX and Lagwagon.

Sick of it All was one of my first mainstream act hardcore shows, saw them with Terror and i think it was Winds Of Plague and The Ghost Inside? Great show.

I've never even heard of this band but I decided to check them out based on your assertion and I dig them. Thanks

Highly reccommend checking out songs "Bostons" and "Hard Bark on the Family Tree".

If you have father issues or family issues, these songs really cut to you.

Another band to check out is "Kaonashi", a bit sappy on the lyrics side, but vocals, guitars, and drums absolutely ON POINT.

Heavy, technical, creative as all hell, and to be frank I'm going to go here, but they have a black singer, which idc if it sounds superficial, but I love it. I love seeing a non "white hardcore kid with an integrity tshirt" as I'm so used to seeing and hearing the perspective of in the past. Its fresh and welcomed.

I've been digging Varials, that's the only recent one I can think of that's hardcore. I've always liked the genre, I'll have to listen to what everyone is posting!

Varials is cool as hell, the song King of Rats with Bryan Garris is sick as hell.
