Now the bas player has issued a statement.

Something something MichaelJacksoneatingpopcorn.gif

On a more positive note, the last time I saw them, they opened for Mastodon, and Jordan's tone CRUSHED. I mean, it was just perfect.
That Tweet stream pretty much says what I was thinking was going on. Again, it sucks, but I'm more interested to hear what the other four dudes can do with another vocalist than what the vocalist is gonna do now.

This is mostly off topic in consideration of the context of the thread, but I figured I’d share it for shits and giggles. I just started checking Keith’s twitter account and came across this Revolver interview he did on his life story, where it gets into his divorce.

In short, an old friend named Angela reached out to him and asked how he was doing, he replied that he was terrible and through their talks, he realized his marriage was really toxic and was better phrased as emotionally abusive. Because of those talks he ended up leaving his wife and now he’s with this woman, Angela.

So my marriage fell apart last July and I had to get out of town for a couple days to hit my reset switch because I wasn’t handling it well. On the way up to see a friend, I had several coincidences that pointed towards my ex from 16 years ago, Angela. I don’t believe in coincidence and last I knew, Angela didn’t either. So I looked her up on FB, saw she was married and looked happy, shot her a message telling her about my experience that weekend, congratulated her on her marriage and wished her well.

Well, she ended up replying telling me that her marriage was terrible and she’d already asked her husband for a divorce twice in two years. We ended up talking more, mainly about marriage and detailing what occurred in mine and how I was treated, which practically mirrored her marriage. Shortly after, she packed her shit and told her husband, “I’m not asking you this time, goodbye.” While we had NO intention of getting back together (she lives in New England and I’m in Florida) after spending some time with each other in the last couple of months, things headed in that direction and it looks like I’ll be moving back to New England once my lease is up.

Just thought that was pretty damn funny.

Totally agree. The vocals were great but the music was always sweet. I think, "New Junk Aesthetic" and everything after was spectacular. I think Keith will be able to be replaced relatively easy as a vocalist but not as a lyricist. The new stuff from the 4 boys will sound dope but won't be as cleverly wrapped. My opinion obviously.

Assuming you are a Democrat, we need you to stay in Florida and vote like one. Or, at least keep your residence there. Is she a Democrat that likes swampy weather? Move her down. ;)

Its gonna be the 4 of them plus vocalist under a new name i think.

That was my initial thought as well, but I thought Jordan's statement was vague enough that maybe they'll continue with the ETID name. I don't see how these guys will make livable $ and/or play decent gigs if they go the new band route (I love the comparison to Wovenwar that somebody made earlier). Seems like they have their legal ducks in a row so it's not like Keith could do anything about it. Still a tricky situation for everyone.

I'm gonna say new singer, new band, but they'll throw ETID songs into the live show.

Man, I hope they don’t play ETID songs, even given the current drama, that’s a HUGE fuck you to Keith. I know many ither bands do it, but it just seems wrong in this case.

Everything I’ve read seems like Keith is just somebody else now, and the capitalizing Love and shit like that is the same annoying garbage everyone who goes through AA does where they get obsessed with their new addiction and try to make it everyone else’s problem.

So what I want to know is, why are so many people guessing he found God? The first line says that this is now between the others and their God. Do they worship a different God than he may or may not? And do they all four worship the same God between them? Either way, regardless, I'm not going to cast judgment from a couple of capitalized letters. As someone who recently stopped drinking after years of alcohol abuse, his journey is his. Guess it's a good thing we have experts in here with the snide remarks about it, though. Must be amazing being perfect with no demons or vices.

One thing for sure is that people that use the phrase "MY truth" are usually not interested in what the truth actually is. Keith is a brilliant, immensely talented guy but his truth makes no sense on its face. This sucks regardless of what the truth actually is.

I see what you are saying but that phrase is so commonplace now that it could just be that: this is how me (Keith) sees things. This is my experience which doesn't have to coincide with what the other members are saying.

No bro, there's a deeper meaning behind it and everyone who has ever said that phrase is delusional.

I took this to mean that they worship at a different alter than he does. Whether he is implying money, fame, drugs, Netflix, etc., I have no idea.

I got the same impression. If this whole getting sober thing is what's going on I take that as a declaration of principle: the guys want to continue with their vices (whatever they are) while I am now choosing to be free.

hehe. I'll have to look more into this thing, then. I guess the Zeitgeist is lost on me :D

I was being sarcastic. My point being, I think it's a gross oversimplification for the poster above to say that the phrase "my truth" isn't related to someone actually telling the truth. To me, it's just a saying or what someone knows to be true. More of a perception based on a series of events rather than the events themselves. For example, this is his take on everything.
