This guy has spammed his videos everywhere... this is not the way...
The guy is also not all there mentally.

A small fragment of the online guitarist community humors him. (It's mainly obnoxious kids around Facebook from what I've seen.) Ya know...that whole thing when we were younger and our parents would tell us to "be nice to the mentally debilitated kid" at school or on our block, etc.

It started as a joke. But then some folks just kind of ran too far with it and refused to let it die. Now, it has become a community meme. And the worst part is that because of these years of "false support" and everyone simply "being nice" to this guy by humoring him, he is actually convinced that he is an incredibly skilled guitarist, which is why he shamelessly spams his shitty videos everywhere.

Thanks! Serious question: so if you don't respond to a lot of the other threads on this forum, does that automatically mean that your own contributions are less welcome or valuable?
Speaking personally? Yes.

If someone's primary means of engagement in a community is driving traffic to a different forum (in the general sense, not discussion message board sense) where they can make money from that engagement, then the message that sends to me is I'm viewed as a commodity, valuable only for my mouse clicks, rather than as a fellow member of a community.

The whole Youtube clickbait thing, hey, I get it... but the difference between community and spam is what you post when you're NOT driving traffic to your channel. If the answer is not much, then your posts aren't contributions, they're ads, and everyone hates ads.

He can actually play (when he's not busy doing the speed of light shred hugs life, he can lower himself to doing some decent VH and Malmsteen covers).
If anything, the worst part is bringing some racists out of the woodwork and verbal calls for him to quote "go kill himself" across various comment feeds. YouTubers like Steve Terreberry the discount Dane Cook only served to make that worse and make a quick buck out of it.

Thankfully, the latter two are not the case here. But the lot responsible for such things deserve to be brought down with scorn and admonishing.

The one with the mental thing was a different guy; that was Richard Benson who passed away a few months ago.

The fingers aliens dude is a Brazilian guy with some humor by himself as well, I've visited his facebook page some time ago (for research purpose only) and he posts photoshop'ed pics of himself with the masters... he does feel like he has some mental thing going on there but that may also be consequence of his bad English skills, either written or spoken. He doesn't seem to be very smart, but one never knows when one can't communicate... and I'd like to see his covers of EVH if there are any...

Hey guys, this whole thing bothered me a little bit because I want my output to bring positivity and I don't like it when something that I do as a person makes people mad. At the same time I'm aware that you can't please everybody and that's ok! Everybody is entitled to their own opinions and as long as everybody is respectful and open about it, that's all good!

I read the forum rules 3 times and I honestly don't think I'm doing anything wrong... So maybe it's best to end this off-topic discussion and if you see anything that goes against the rules, don't start a discussion (as the rules state that such behaviour is not desired) but simply report the post. I'll do my best to follow the rules of this forum as best I can!

Now, back to the Leviathan! :) I've been writing some new music just for this amp. I really want to show you guys how it sounds and how versatile it is! Can't wait to show you more! Soon!

At least you're not entirely guilty of doing what @Drew very eloquently described, which is indeed a substantial issue in regards to appropriate forum behavior when someone is hawking products (whether at a company's request or not) and leading folks off the forum with ulterior intent, even if that intent is for their personal YouTube channel.

Anyway, I know that I've seen you interacting around this forum for quite awhile with comments and posts in random threads. So, that at least is contributing.

Quoting this draw attention to it. ^ Well put, @Drew.

This thread should be turned into a holywood drama blockbuster starring today's top award winning actors!
Feat. Nicolas Cage in all of the roles. Who better to take part, as the greatest thespian of our time?

This is a question that gets my curiosity. I get that sometimes one gets inspired by tones (most of them for me actually) and that it leads to some different mind state and therefore compositions. In this particular situation, what does this amp have that makes you play/compose differently than when you plug into an Orange, Mesa Boogie, Marshall, AxeFX or an Engl for example? I surf amp tones by their gain amount... I'd prefer Mesa's Mark series grain/texture, but don't mind playing other amps...

Good question! Sometimes amps that are a bit more simple (so with a single channel for example) inspire certain tones like the Tiny Terror for example. The cleans, crunch and rock tones are good but it's not amazing for metal. The Leviathan is quite versatile so you can get a good range of tones out of it. The second channel is so tight though that it just inspires a bit more aggressive styles. Channel one is more "rock" so that is better for bigger chords and stuff. I don't try to overthink it though and just wait till an inspiring idea comes up and go for it.

It's not really a rules thing, is the thing. Like, idunno... Highways have speed limits. There are rules against going 85mph in a 65mph zone, and some highways have minimum speeds as well so there are rules against going below 45mph on a highway with a 45mph min/65mph max. Those are clear cut rules.

But, on that two-lane 45mph min/65mph max, if you exactly match speed with someone going 55mph in the right lane and you stay in the left, no one's going to look at you and say, "man, that guy's a real valuable contributor to my highway experience," right? Even if you're not breaking any rules? And I think the answer is, no, everyone else on the highway is going to wish that guy in the left lane would either speed up or slow down or otherwise get out of the way, even if there's no actual rule being broken.

Community is a two way street, and engaging with a community in ways beyond simply harvesting one for clicks build a LOT of goodwill. And, the irony is, goodwill tends to build support, which in turn does build clicks.

I'm not trying to be a dick here and I really hope I'm not coming across as one, as this is intended to be constructive. But, since you asked, yes, if you only post in and respond in your own threads, and those threads are to drive traffic to a different media source where you're a monetized contributor, that does make those contributions less valuable, so I'm trying to explain where I'm coming from rather than just tossing it out there in a vacuum. Suggesting this is a simple rules thing where anything goes as long as the rules are followed misses the point - there's also no rule saying I have to value any one poster's contributions just as much as any other based on their behavior, as long as no rules are broken, you know?
