Record revenues.
Record profits.
High demand for product.

No raises or bonuses. “Get fucked, employees!”

FFS.
What's sad is how standard, across-the-board this stance has become. And yeah, our management is whining constantly that they can't hire or keep new hires. Gee, wonder why, dickheads?

Sounds like they're also about to have a record high for employee turnover
I wonder if they’re trying to get people to quit to free up their massive pile of RSUs they’re going to owe every quarter. I don’t know anymore. Still waiting for that trickle down, Reagan, you cunt!

Received a damaged guitar from Reverb a few weeks ago. Seller dragged his feet for over a week before sending me a return label, which I then shipped within a few hours. Got contacted by Reverb saying they would monitor the return and issue a manual refund after 48 hours. Well 48 hours passed since the guitar was delivered with no refund in sight and when I contacted support they just messaged the seller asking to issue the refund. Give me back my money and charge the seller, he's already proven he won't be giving my money back.

So the seller went ahead and called me twice (I did not answer obviously) and left a vaguely threatening voicemail, then sent a more polite version to my reverb inbox. I want to report him to Reverb and send in the voicemail but honestly I'm kind of concerned about the fact that he seems to be willing to use my personal information to try to get at me. I mean the dude has my home address and phone number.

Let him and then see what happens when you file a police report for harassment/whatever charges they'll throw at him, especially across states (I'm assuming or else you would've gotten it in person?)

I'm not that tough, and I feel like Florida isn't gonna help me too much tbh. I'll probably sleep on it. It's been almost a month since I placed the initial order and I kind of just want to be done with him.

Man, I just drove 1300 miles from AZ to MT, all in one shot. This would be totally fine, but as it turns out, my co-worker and I have covid. 4am rolls around, 900+ miles deep, we're both at peak "fuck you" from the symptoms. Doesnt stop us from getting here well before monday for the job! We even had time for a hike through the Zion before we realized WHY we were sick  (thought we would just sweat it out)

20230917_103610.jpg

So we finally arrive. Exhausted, sick and sore from head to toe. I alert the Californians. "Hey guys, we made it, but we also got covid. What do you want us to do?"

Theyll let us know soon

Last phone call was over an hour ago. We're still sittin here awaiting orders.

I was dicking around on fb looking at guitar stuff and got an ad for what was supposedly an Outdoor Research outlet. Website seemed legit til I got to the payment screen and then the only option is credit card. Should have been a red flag for me, but I wasn't thinking too hard about it at that point. Welp, then after paying I get the confirmation email and it's from a bullshit email that has nothing to do with OR. I check my bank account and the payment is going to a completely different company. I check the URL of the company getting the money, and it's an escort site in russia... FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK
Of course my goddamn podunk bank doesn't have 24/7 customer service, so now I have to wait til tomorrow morning to report the charge and the company, hopefully cancel/reverse it, and likely get a new card.

A certain well-known carrier is dragging its feet — and apparently any other dangly parts at their disposal — in an historically accurate reenactment of pandemic-era shipping dumbfuckery. All indicators point to bottlenecks and a whole lot o’nothin’ going on with a package that was shipped expedited nearly a week ago from a handful of states away. No expected delivery date, but plenty of “In Transit”, “In Competent”, and “Our employees are working diligently to determine which end their own asses are on.”

Three days before completing on selling my house (and 3 days after we were meant to exchange) my buyer pulls out. No explanation, no warning. Luckily I live in the UK where there are literally zero penalties for pulling such a stunt.

Now I need to find a buyer FAST or I lose the house that I’ve been trying to buy. Mad is an understatement.

I ordered new golf clubs almost 2 months ago, and they're still not in my hands. I've been itching to get custom-to-me clubs for a long time and it's taking forever! The decent weather is quickly fading, and I hate golfing in the cold, so my time to use them frequently is dwindling. Mizuno, you're killing me.

Fuuuuuuuck, the door latch on our laundry machine broke yesterday. I don't really get how, as it's all metal, but somehow it just snapped.

So I told my wife and we started googling new machines, we even decided that we'll get the best one there is no matter the price, so it'll last us a lifetime... But then I realized it might be possible to replace that particular part, I googled that, and 10 minutes later I had ordered a replacement latch. I guess that's what you get for buying high quality machines, that machine's more than 20 years old and you can still get parts for it!

Got a note from my landlord that there has been burglaries in our basement storage room. Went to check my cage and what you know, it was jimmied open. Thank god nothing was taken and thank fucking God I didn't take my RG1570 there since I was planning doing that since it just collects dust in my rack. Hope those fuckers overdose on fake Xanax and choke on their own vomit. :fawk:

I had set up the best dual mic setup for recording. I'm talking, tone that would make you weep for glory. It's been there for about two weeks, getting used only during the weekends when the neighbors don't mind me blasting the gallops and chugga-lugs.

I woke up this morning to find one of the mic stands obliterated, the other turned sideways, a bunch of pedals tossed off a shelf behind the speaker cab, and a nagging suspicion my freak-out of a younger cat is to blame. Mad doesn't quite cover the emotional impact, but it's close enough.

Took me a damned hour to get them synced back up to where I think it's about the same, and turned me into a sweaty mess in the process. But I can't really test it out until tomorrow afternoon when my agreed upon, "Don't call the cops" time arrives. I was just using the sound of smacking a wire across the contacts of the guitar cable with the volume down a bit this morning to find the fullest sounding rasp I could pick up with them and then moving them around to get the waveforms syncing up in a DAW. What a shit-show.

That is one heckuva cat. Can he survive winters in SD on his own?
He may. He's around 20 pounds, muscly as fuck, but one of the happiest cats I've ever met. I won't turn him out, but I had some evil thoughts for a few minutes when I saw that mess. Believe me.

That cat's destroyed more equipment. I had a really nice dual antenna wifi dongle on my desktop. He somersaulted into it over and over again and busted it off, as I was yelling at him to get away from it. He somersaulted into glasses of water, into the dogs' legs, into our legs, ripped up the garbage bags we kept hanging on the chair in the kitchen for daily kitchen scraps, threw dishes out of the drying rack and busted them, scratched the shit out of my by slipping when sitting in my lap and panick flailing his way back up like I was a tree.

Yet it's hard not to like him when he chills out, which is most of the time now. He still has what I refer to as "the morning freakout." After his breakfast, he runs around the house like a maniac, up and down the cat towers, over the table, just on and on, and he's so big it sounds like a freight train running through a pack of elephants, but traveling at ramjet speed. All you can do is pray you stay out of the way enough to not get hit. He ran into my legs once and almost took me down.

Follow-up. I got one day of recording with the mics all set up again. Sounded pretty good. Then my wife came back to my office, the dogs followed her, and for some reason the youngest got really curious about the mics and ended up knocking both stands over and dropping the M106 to the ground. A ribbon mic getting shocked? What fun.

I'm sitting there steaming mad, trying not to freak out and tell everybody to get the FUCK out of the recording room as wifey's babbling about food, and then the same dog that knocked everything over walks over to me, hops up on my lap with her front paws (she's a huge dog), gives me a kiss, then leaves the room. I think she could sense my rising anger after she knocked over the mics and thought she'd better apologize before she split. In this particular instance, quicker on the uptake than the wife.

So, this week I get to reset the fucking mics YET AGAIN! God damn it.

Once upon a time I kept a PVC frame with a blanket over it wrapped around the amps once the mics were set up. It may be time to bust that out again.
