Surprised this thread is still going. Was planning to grift everyone here with my djent virgin opera concept album once this died down. I guess Wintercum: The Jackening II is set to bust out of the sauna and ruin that, or whatever it's called.

I'm sure it's not the unremarkable formulaic sad boi metal their entire catalog consists of. When you're combining so many instruments that don't go together with almost zero actual innovation or originality it's only a matter of time before you strike gold. Any day now.

You didn't hear? He is training an AI right now to immortalize himself so it can create a new album every 15 years right on schedule.
You've got it wrong. He's been trying to train an AI to immortalize himself, but the computer that's running the neural network keeps running out of RAM. Word is that he's going to start a crowdfunding campaign for a quantum computer in order to get past this, and is going to channel the waste heat it generates into a sauna. Two birds with one stone.

A one-stone sauna? Now that is efficient.

So is there an actual release date for this or just Jari saying it's done?
Like I said, I'll wait until the album pops up on the label's website. Trusting Jari has been kind of a mixed bag those past 18 years

With all the hype/drama surrounding that album I'm afraid that it only can disappoint. There's absolutely no way it'll live up to anyone's expectations - including my own.

Come to think of it I'm kind of sad that it actually IS Time II and not a djent/deathcore-ish instrumental album. I really liked his new guitar demo track video thing. He also has a pretty sweet Will it djent video floating around on the 'Tube.

I just knew he would go for another crowdfund campaign. He just literally can’t help it. I assumed during the % update, you could “buy” a piece of the upcoming sauna or something but now it’s for some package. Bro you are signed to nuclear blast, they will take care of you but it just never ends.

Another crowdfunding, oh boy the naysayers are going to be mad. So mad... they will complain forever about money, or when and how Time II should have been released, and if the studio is built yet

You know, if anybody does the crowd-funding thing and expects to get anything for it at this point, it's kinda on them.

I feel like I should crowdfund my books. I have a horrible time releasing them on time. Seems like I've got all the requirements. Come on intewebs. Daddy needs a new keyboard.

It sounds like Time II will be available through Nuclear Blast, so you don't have to buy it through the crowdfunding, so why are people so upset?
I don't agree with Jari's choices one bit, but right now it seems like some of you guys just wants to be mad regardless of what he does?

FFS, you guys makes me sound like @Metropolis

I might pick up a vinyl if it becomes available through my usual vinyl pusher. If not then I guess I have to hope for some YouTube upload or something.

The thing I don’t understand is why not just have nuclear blast book a few weeks with Jens Bogren to produce, record, and mix it back whenever they were ready to do this and call it a day.

Why try to do it yourself with your own studio when you can just work with pros and nuclear blast will pay for it?

Most guys do mixing and producing out of necessity because they are getting started and don’t have the cash to work with the best of the best.

I was pissed when I saw them live in 2018 and jari wasn’t even playing guitar. It’s like going to a children of bodom show and Alexi (RIP) just doing vocals. Super lame

As someone who (used to, anyway) play guitar with vocals at the same time I always felt a sort of affinity to bands/musicians who had the same thing going on, so when Jari dropped guitar I felt a little disappointed even though the reasons made sense. I don't think I'd go see them live again now, just isn't the same for me. I'd rather he do a Per Nilsson and mainly play guitar with the odd vocal part here and there with a dedicated vocalist doing the lion's share of the work.

Who knows, Jari may pick the guitar up again now they have no second guitar player anymore.

The same was true for The Forest Seasons. I just pre-oredered my copy from an actual record store. So yeah, I don't get why anyone needs to be upset about it either.
I still agree it's funny and all that though.

I really hope he will not dare keep it again as a ransom behind a crowdfunding or anything like that..
Well here we are.
As someone who has bought Jari’s music and paid to watch them live in multiple countries, i will torrent this album, just out of principal.
