I get a bit surprised sometimes on the SS frets being a deal breaker sometimes. Considering how quickly the vast majority of posters here flip guitars I have doubt's about how long they would have it in their possession for it to be a problem, and if we are talking about wear I wonder how many...
Like anything, there are good and bad ones. My local PMT has a bunch of 22/23's LP's all going for between 2-6k and just leaning in you can see the cosmetic flaws before you even pick them up. At that price range they should be as close to perfect as they can get and I'm not buying that 'well...
I've got 2 PRS SE's (Holcomb and Tremonti) that have the same strings on they came with, and I've had them 3+ years. I do stretch/wipe the strings down before and after I play however, and I sometimes just clean the strings if I haven't played in a while. Some other guitars get changed more...
This is a custom right? I've looked for a model like it all over the place and the closest I can get is a Hamer Cali, they they are flat tops with blade switches and no reverse headstock.
I've got at least 3 guitars with locked/blocked FR's that I do not use and that don't have the nut bolts screwed tight or on at all. I'd consider this for those.
Is that custom? I don't recognise it from any of the previous models (even fr27's are off) and a Google image search isn't bringing me up anything that matches. This looks like the spiritual successor to my Hamer Californian, which I've not found a replacement for in 30 years.
A few days ago my daughter said she's found a guitar she liked but I probably wouldn't like it, and then showed me this lol I said it was OK, but if she wanted an EPI V to get one of the Prophecy ones :P
Apparently she only wanted this because it was purple! I pointed her towards the Epi...
I did see haha, I just love that there are so many shapes and possibilities for everyone no matter what we like or don't, pretty much everything is covered. World would be boring if everyone just played an LP or Strat bodied bit of wood.
lol that was great, the pics pretty big on my screen and as I was scrolling it's "ooh yeah that's nice" and then I got just past the bridge and threw up. I hate guitars with those cutouts with all my being (same goes for headless, Kiesal Vaders give me nightmares) but that's a me problem. This...
I think I know what you mean. I picked up a HB baritone 7 last year and it looks really nice but has no presence, no attack, it sounds mushy as hell and although it feels nice to play (satin finish, neck is lush) it sounds utterly forgettable and flubby.
There are 1000s of amazing R players out there, most in bands I can't even remember the names of off the top of my head, but when it comes to personal experience (listing to growing up, seeing live etc) I would say people like Dave Mustaine (awful person lol, but he can play), Scott Ian and...
I felt like I was led here under false pretences. No Steve Jackson/Ian Livingstone option? :p
Anyway I picked djent as I just like the tones more these days. Not that there is anything wrong with the others, they rock also.
I asked this question of the VOLA frontman since he uses Balaguer 7 B's but is most definitely tuned to F#. I made a guess he was using an 8 string set and he confirmed it (10-74's if I remember right).
