So I gave up on the Hard to Handle cover, as I figured out my mic technique was all whack. Here's a little thing I recorded this morning, and I've been working on a bigger band mix of something for later. Hope you like it.

Yeah before I went part time I was just straight worked like a whore for the last two months. We're talking 10-day weeks with alternating days and nights. I also felt like I had some room to grow before I posted too much more, so I gave it a bit of a rest. And, my studio monitor went tits up, so I could only do headphone mixes for about a month. But really, work was driving my knob into the ground. So glad that shit's over.
Well, I am currently recording a really simple acoustic cover of "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding. I will be posting here when it is finished, but I expect a seriously not-so-excellent reception (being that it's non-metal). I just wanted to have some fun because I got a new microphone (ST77) and the new Taylor finally came in. I wanted to do a good little ditty before I took it to get set up, and I'm pretty stoked about it.
The Rico is apparently going to be ready to ship some time very early next week - like Monday-ish (OMG OMG OMG) although until it's in my hands... talk is cheap and liquor costs money. At that point I can start in on the big project. I'm thinking while Bolin has my acoustic I'm going to record an ambient piece with vocals, synth, bass, some clean guitars (a la strat), and drums. It'll give me something to do anyway. I'm down to part time at the job now, so it's affording me more time to get things done. I'll keep ya' posted. How you been man?
