I think poplar gets a bad rap. People think it's a cheap wood, but it's a really good tone wood. Very similar to alder. It's light with a lot of resonance. The Morse's are great guitars. The necks are fantastic and they sound awesome. The Morse pickups are really cool and there are a ton of tones to be had with the configuration. I actually have a trade feeler out on the Y2D right now. It's awesome, but I want another JP. My rosewood neck Morse will likely never go anywhere. It's one of the best guitars I have ever played for sure. If not the best.
