I'm a big fan of the Suhr Woodshed compressor. Studio-style compressor in a little box. Super versatile. Can do the hi-fi "tone enhancer" thing the Cali 76 does, and can also get plenty squishy if you want it to.
Placed an order for a God City Instruments Jugendstil about two weeks ago. Silicon fuzz with an HM-2 EQ that can be blended in parallel. It'll be here tomorrow and I'm super stoked!
This thing sounds great so far. Gotta say though, seeing that they managed to get the Bright and Structure switches on this makes me wish they were able to cram the Voice switch on the IR-X.
I've been rocking 9.5s in standard lately. 9s are a bit too "plinky" sounding on the high strings + I like the slight bit of extra tension on the low end since I pick a bit hard. Lightened up the gauge a little bit to force myself to actually learn how to play. Thinking about switching my other...
It's really a shame what Ibanez has done with the Sabre line these days. It's the best shape they make. (There's my contribution to the thread, I suppose.)
The OG Sabre line and all of its offshoots (bring back the SZ too, you cowards) were so comfortable.
