Sucks to hear this, RIP. There was a time when I was looking into the fastest keyboard/guitar solo duels and that's where I discovered both his solo output like VK3 and Artension. He was super talented and he was too young to go.
I have only tried a few Suhr Moderns so far and while they were great guitars, I did not consider purchasing one due to the lower cutaway and subsequent upper fret access not being the best. I also have larger hands so that was a definite deal breaker for a lead player like me.

For sure I have heard amazing things about ESP original craftsmanship. I wish I could test both side by side just to see what kind of difference there is. You are right about fretwork being much more important than material. I think its more that anything in the 5k range is a hard sell for me...

I find them a bit overrated overall tbh. They don't work with you much on discounts because they say that their "personalized" service makes up for it. Well maybe for some but I've had pretty much the same service level at MF/GC online or Zzounds/AMS. Unless you count the candy lol.
