I had a black anodized brushed aluminum pickguard and truss rod cover set made by a place in California called Sharp Concepts. I just ordered it online from them and they had templates for all kinds of shit so a Jackson cover plate shouldn't be difficult.

It looks so cool it's a shame to hide it under a black plastic cover so I had these made at a local laser engraving place. For way cheaper than buying replacement Ibanez plates. I wanted the smoked gray colour but nobody in Poland has the type of material so frosted clear was the next best option.
So basically this is a really expensive and invasive way of solving a problem that is easily solved by using proper string size and practicing technique for people who "just don't want to"?
Also, why wouldn't they just sell you a set of pickups and then charge to get dlc artist preamp profiles to download into your pickups? Instead of having to buy different sets of pickups? Wasn't that the whole idea in the first place to not have to rewind an existing pickup or make a completely...

So if I'm understanding what I'm reading, these aren't wound like a traditional pickup. They are basically set up as a neutral pickup and the flavor is created with the eq of the preamp? So is there a way to hack or jailbreak these to make tweaks to the internal preamp?
