They are very durable, Carvin goes over them with like 20+ coats of clear coat. I had an older one that took ages for me to sand down to re-finish (was just a natural clear coat dc200 from the early 90's). I mean obviously they'll scratch if you drop your guitar or something metal on it etc, but they are top-notch in that regard.

Hey I would like to thank you for responding to my thread about Carvin guitars. I am purchasing mine soon. I have heard nothing but love for their guitars. I just have one last concern, how are the finishes? I know they look fantastic, but Are they durable and will they cratch or chip easily? That is my last concern before I purchase mine. Thank you. -
