Interesting to hear that any soap bar pickup will do. I figured a standard soap bar pickup wouldn't have the sensing range to cover all the fanned region let alone the pole pieces not lining up. Has this worked for other people?
I'd consider EMG's but, they never work out for me in the long run...
I'm considering grabbing a lace deathbar for the bridge of a multiscale 7. Not sure if for the neck I would be best with another deathbar or a x-bar?
Anyway, any other suggestions of 3.5" active routes for my fanned 7?
I currently own a Gemini. When I initially tried a Colossus I remember it having a very floaty feeling, that sounds like an odd description but, like the the notes are just effortless to play but, with loads of clarity. Personally it's more of feel thing than a a tonal thing.
Has anybody...
Just to check before I wire this up. I was going to set up a rotary coil split to the humbucker. Then use a 1x volume, 1x tone and a 5 way switch as a normal strat set up using 500K pots. That way I have two setups a "HSS" and "SSS". Will this work?
I tried a OS6 and I was stunned by the endura neck. I'm feeling a strandberg 7 of some sorts. I'm torn between an OS7 or the OS CL7. From what I can tell they are basically the same but, with different woods and straight pickups and an inlay. I'm frequently changing pickups etc... so the...
I guess I love the sound of the sig x it's purely the flowing feeling the guitar gives you. That was there in the ksr. I get the feeling I could get a 5150 iii to do a similar job but, the ksr just felt like more. But, it is anoyingly it also costs a hell of a lot more.
I played a KSR colossus a while back and I fell in love with it. I currently own a Kemper (powered), Fryette Sig x and ENGL savage 120. Which is far too many amps. I'm trying to reduce the number of amps I own.
I'm keeping the kemper because it's far too useful. But, I'm considering selling...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: ENGL savage 120
Modifications (if any): I had a amp tech change out the leds for super bright green ones. It looks epic and did absolutely nothing to change the tone.
Accessories (hardshell case etc): softcase

I asked about a custom set and they didn't offer it without great expenses. However, that was a few years back so stuff may have changed.
I ain't the only one who has disliked their ran it's just not well publicised. Not saying don't get one they are just a bit more hit and miss.
I'd be cautious with RAN's merlin pickups in their FF8s. Whilst I got my FF8 at the very beginning it had a lot of issues, messed up fret work, sharp edges (nut and pickups), .... pickups etc... I got some instrumental customs made for it which were a serious improvement but, all in all very...
So, I use a powered kemper for both bass and guitar. In the past I had a bass cab and guitar cab but, I sold the bass cab due to moving house and a lack of space. I have a range of guitars 7, 8 and 9 string as well as my 5 string bass. Seeing as I playing through my guitar cab using a low C# on...
I find it odd that they don't bond in the supports in the case. I mean a £160 case and they can't be arsed to finish it properly! Hope it plays better than my FF8 does.
