Amp impulses, eh? How are these supposed to work? I'd imagine these are just tone matching EQ snapshots, which means you'd have to be using the same guitar and amp/cab sim with the same settings to get the same end result.
Why are you limiting yourself to Lundgrens? Also, if you can't say much more than that you want "the best" then you won't get any meaningful advice aside from maybe which brands to look at or stay away from. If you want a Lundgren for metal rhythm tones, though, just get an M and call it a day.
Well, he didn't address the issue of different frequencies being absorbed/diffused differently, but I don't know whether or not that was brought up much in the YouTube comments. I didn't look, but I imagine the discussion there was a lot less thoughtful than it was here. FWIW, I don't think he's...
Everything I was going to say was pretty much said already. Damn. He bothered to talk about resonance and how it does affect how waves are reflected back into the string, but then his equations didn't take it into account. He didn't even really actually address body wood at all except by saying...
This isn't really how these kinds of surveys work. A survey of this sort is supposed to poll people on how they feel about things or what kinds of tendencies they have. It's about personal, subjective experience. What you're trying to get here is statistical, objective numbers. Also, the numbers...
This band actually used to get a fair amount of attention around here, but most of the people who were into the band don't post here anymore. Great band, great album.
the PA/monitor will typically have its own power amp built into it. Running a guitar power amp into that would be a bad idea. There's not much that you can put between the POD and the power amp to make it sound better. Maybe a more flexible EQ. Maybe try to upgrade to a POD HD.
What do you mean by running through active monitors and then a PA? Do you mean micing up the monitor? Don't do that. That's silly. If you're going to use a mic, then get a real cab. It will sound much better than the cab sims in the POD. I used my X3L with a tube power amp and a real cab, and it...
I have a C-Pig/A-Pig set, and yeah, it sounds like just what you're looking for. No mud at all, huge muscly tone, plenty tight, but still surprisingly versatile. They sound good clean, thick and warm. Warpigs are actually pretty well liked as jazz pickups. It just so happens I'm selling that set...
