Ehh I don't feel like putting too much effort, but to summarize.
-Fretboard is the worst quality I've ever seen, it has these fuzzy spots all over that are actually end grain that is facing upwards (A master woodworking friend told me it's called twisted grain and essentially would be considered...
The HCDR legacy shirt was really expensive but fuck it, I bought one anyways. That's one of my favorite / most inspiring albums guitarwise for me, so had to snag one.
I'm going to get one of those flat jersey frames and put it on my office/music room wall with the signed certificate it comes with.
I think the answer is yes to all those points. I think some people will buy them because they like V shaped guitars, and some people who worship Alexi would buy anything with his name on it. Then there's some people who buy signature gear just because they like some aspect of a design, they...
I mean to be honest, you can pretty much get the COB sound out of anything if you have a graphic EQ pedal in front of the amp. Just cut some highs and lows, boost 500-700k until your guitar has that cocked wah/ nasal quack and you are good to go. The amount of clean volume boost really depends...
So you are saying you don't need a few and you could sell me one :)
I've owned two over the years, sold the first one and regretted it, bought a second one. Same story, sold it and now I can't find one and when they do pop up they are wayyyy overpriced. One of the GP-1000's I owned did have to...
So the J50BC has more of a vintage wind on it, it's 8.8k resistance so it has some nice clarity in the high end. It has a ceramic magnet to beef it up a bit but it's still relatively medium-low output which is why the Jackson and Charvel guitars they were stock in usually came with a midbooost...
RRF is an actual album and It's not bad, has more of the heavy stop and go type riffs probably most similar to Are you Dead Yet.
I worship chaos I really liked, it's definitely more melodic death metal in feel especially in the drum and guitar harmony department (Widdershins is my favorite...
He was also doing a 80's rock cover band in Finland so it could be useful in that situation. Also tastes change even for the pros, maybe he just finally wanted to try something different.
Bodom aside, I think the H/S V design is a super cool 80's metal throwback especially in purple. I think it...
Yes. I do see now that they are not selling direct these specific Alexi models ...yet... but every other model on their website has a "Buy Now" button. To be fair, a lot of companies are doing this, schecter, fender, gibson ect but it sucks for the small dealers when they have to compete with...
That's what happens when companies sell direct on their website and are in direct competition with their own small mom 'n pop dealers just trying to make a living.
I guess this really is the cash grab model then
Do you guys remember when the original LTD Alexi's with the same specs were like $999? I 'memba.
Being a huge bodom fan, these look awesome but I'm not sure I would pay $1549 for an LTD Alexi made in Korea or Indonesia.
Especially when you can get the ESP Edwards Alexi made in Japan models for...
Just announced today. 5 new LTD/E-II/ESP Custom Alexi Laiho signatures will be launching.
They are based on 2 ESP custom shop models he received before he passed.
Hexed version is traditional ESP Laiho specs, and the Ripped version looks like satin finish with jagged pinstripes and the addition...
Why? Because it would be cool to have an EVH branded amp that actually sounds like Van Halen's most notable albums. Sure there's other options for that sound, but I just think it would be cool for EVH brand to do their take on that sound....being the most famous sound of his career imo.
I know it will probably never happen, but I wish EVH would do an old school brown sound Marshall super lead style amp. Maybe now that Eddie's dead and won't be around to say no it will happen someday lol
I'm still waiting for the original Bodom guys to tell their side of the story, which they mentioned they would at some point. Maybe they are just waiting for the dust to settle. They went live on Instagram a few months ago when they were hanging out (which is pretty rare, since COB has never...
I'm not sure if pricing has been revealed yet but I found the following pre-orders on a UK site
Solid Matte models and Pickguard models £859 (Probably $1199 USD)
The Aqua quilt top 6 £929 (Probably $1299)
7 String burl £1,019 (Probably $1399)
Can anyone confirm? Seems reasonable.
Can confirm, Mike announced he was leaving before the pride logo went up and said so himself his reasons for leaving had nothing to do with that.
Those comments posted here on the previous page though, didn't see those wow! Just seems like he was finally done working for a tyrant lol
One thing to try, not sure if you checked this already. Make sure the screws that attach the base of the locking nut to the neck itself are tightened completely. Not the individual locking screws, but the 2 bolts that actually go through the base of the nut and into the neck wood (sometimes they...
