Dude, this thing looks sexy. I've always wanted to try one of these basses as they look so nice and comfortable to play. Also, awesome playthrough, I really dig your tone.
Man I got to play one of these in guitar center not long ago. I want one soo badly! happy NBD man, than neck plays like butter hahaha. I didn't get a chance to plug it in and hear the pickups, how do you like the nordy's? Considering upgrading the bart's in my BTB to them.
I run an ampeg setup as well, though slightly different as I have the svt-7 pro, but I have found that upping your mids a bit can really give life to the low B, especially if you play in any drop tunings.
Try circle k strings (or kallium strings, i forget what they go by now) but they have a lot of options for custom sets, you could find exactly what you're looking for on there. I'd look into maybe something in the 160-170ish range possibly for the low A
Honestly I wish I hadn't gotten rid of mine, (was a little strapped for cash) but when I got my Ibby BTB 6'er I just didn't touch the Schecter very often. So that's really why I justified getting rid of it. I preferred my Ibanez mainly because of the wider string spacing and neck profile, but I...
Fretless bass is usually my favorite, especially like in Beyond Creation, Obscura, Augury, etc. It just has that awesome mournful "mwah" to it that really can give a song more character.
I use all four fingers for picking, I didn't watch many lessons, but I just practiced it. For hours and hours. I saw Origin recently live and really observed their bassist play because he uses the same technique. But i'd definitely check out the lessons that were also mentioned.
It was...
I've been playing bass for around 9 years and I only know a small handful of songs all the way through that aren't my own or my band's/previous band's. I did as you did for the most part, just learning small parts of songs mainly for the sake of developing a technique or for practice, band I...
I really enjoyed this new album. The only song to really not stick out to me was "Eviscerate." It felt like a bland song when compared to other songs on the CD like Godless Times. Loved Rusty Cooley's part on Infused. :hbang:
Took me a few listens to really get into it, but now I am really enjoying this album. This band is definitely as some have said, "a breath of fresh air." These guys have a unique style and sound and I dig it a lot.
Also, them on tour with Rivers of Nihil is pretty freakin' rad.
Super excited about this finally arriving to my house today!
So this was sitting at home all day while I was at work; I managed to get a quick 10 minute break at work in which I used to hurry home and made sure this thing was safely inside. Headed back to work, without opening it...
